Gloria Holden
BA hons (Art and Design)
MA (Education)

Originally from Rochdale, Lancashire and now living in the riverside town of Gravesend in Kent.

I have taught Art and Design in Kent  schools for over 30 years and have also led various adult education workshops.

I studied Textile Design at Loughborough College of Art and Design, and have always been fascinated by the patterns and textures found in natural forms and landscapes. Land forms, fossils, insects and seedpods are frequent subjects for my work.

I enjoy exploring qualities of pattern, colour and texture using intaglio printmaking methods, painting, collagraphs and collage.

As a member of the Printmakers Council I exhibit regularly. Examples of my work exist in private and public collections, including the V and A archives  and the permanent collection at Scarborough Art gallery..
